Enjoy a pint of Matilda's Revenge!

The Kings Head Hotel is a 16th century Coaching Inn. History records an ale house on the grounds back to the 13th century. The story of Matilda dates back to the 18th century. The story goes like so....
Maltida was employed at the Kings Head as a Chambermaid she fell in love with a grooms man and was impregnated by him. She told him that she was pregnant and he refused to have anything to do with her and the un-born child. Matilda committed suicide by hanging herself in the barn at the back of the Kings Head the trapdoor is still in place today.
She has been seen wondering the corridors and rooms of
the hotel, not causing any mischief and is not known as a evil entity.
We have joined forces with opa hays brewery in Aldeby and designed a beer in her honour. We asked the brewery to come up with an Ale exclusive for us, they came up with and idea of putting a spirit within!
So the ale is brewed with a secret spirit which adds a subtle after taste to its flavour. The ABV is 4.3% and will be sold from 20th March at £2.50 a pint.
Come in and enjoy this rather special ale with us. You may even see Matilda!
